WKU Deutsche Meisterschaft
November 11th, 2017, Neuwied
The last WAKO World Cup of the year was the first one for me as an older cadet. That means fighting without face-guard and competing with a very strong and well-trained fighters. I started in the -50kg and -55kg weight classes. I haven't expected that, but i had a very good day and fortune was with me. I reached the finals for the -50kg and got the 3rd place in the -55kg class.
Thanks to Carvin and John: you are great coaches, without your support and enthusiasm this wasn't become real.

I decided to take part in the Weapons exam of the scka-weapon groep by Stefano Scandola, my trainer in Weapon and Musical forms. It costs a little bit time but i wanted a graduation in weapons to become a more complete martial artist.

"Be Legendary" Workshop with Danny Etkin

Got one of the last tickets of the HYPER "Be Legendary" workshop of the famous Danny Etkin in Rotterdam. Danny started with an Extreme-Karate clinic. The second part was a training session with his favourite weapon, the nunchaku. It was the first time for me to train with the chux. Nice...

Gala der Gevechtskunsten

During the YDO in April this year i was spotted by an organizer of a Martial Arts Demo event.
He asked me to take part in his gala and i did. It was a very well organised event, showing a large variety of martial arts styles and forms. I was very nervous, never performed during an event like this with an audience of some hundred people. However, THX to the great support of my coach Stefano Scandola from our SCKA Weapons team i did without any mistake. Quite an unbelievable experience.
Stefano also performed during a freestyle battle at the same event and showed some of his awesome tricks.

23rd Hungarian Kickboxing World Cup
May 18-21th, 2017, Budapest
Back to Budapest, as the only participant from the Yokoso team.
Felt a little bit strange, but also a good chance to make some new friends.
The tournament was great as the last time in 2016, but i had to fight against a former opponent from the Austrian Classics in 2016 when she made it in the finals. This time i was better...

Yokoso Dutch Open YDO
April 7-8th, 2017, Amsterdam
The YDO is a major Kickboxing event with about 1000 entries from more than 100 clubs from 19 nations from all over the world. It covers all WAKO categories, from forms to K1. Together with the Athens Challenge, the Irish Open, the Austrian Classics, the Hungarian World Cup, the Best Fighter Cup and the Flanders Open the YDO form the prestigious WAKO World Series, the largest and most important Kickboxing events.

1. Place Point Fighting, Younger Cadets -47kg. Not only nice to get the trophy but also to make new friends. Here my opponent from Germany, who fought very engaged and brave.
1. Place Traditional Forms Weapon Hard Style, what i have never expected, so exciting...
After training for only 14 weeks with the Katana, this was my second tournament after taking part in the IBF Dutch Open this year.
2. Place Traditional Forms Hard Style Open Hand, our team performed very well: the first three ranks are for Karatedo Yokoso
Pointfighting Cup
April 1-2th, 2017, Milan
We decided to go only for one day to Milan to take part in the competition. That wasn't a good plan. I arrived dizzy and tired at the competition hall and the day wasn't as relaxed as i hoped and expected. However... I'll never do that again

Haven't expected much from my Open Hand Kata performance because the Kyokushin-way hasn't much fans in Kata-world and so it was. However, one of our team members got the 1st price.

Nice result for me, and very surprising. I haven't had the intention to go to this IBF tournament at all, but did it because my friends wanted to do so. I tried out the katana (bokken) as my weapon for the first time and expected nothing, wanted only to remember all parts of my form. But it was the 1st place. Unbelievable and it feels so good...

Irish Open
March 2-5th, 2017, Saggart
After the surprising succes at the Irish Open 2016 as a beginner i wanted to do it again.
I started at the Traditional Open Hand forms (Karate katas) and in the point-fighting pool -42kg.
Not the most successful tournament for me at all, but we were there with a great team and had a great time.
Golden Glove
January 21-22th, 2017, Conegliano
One of the first main WAKO events of the year is the Golden Glove in January near Venice.
We (my friend and teammate) decided to start the season with this tournament. We never participated in a tournament in Italy before and were very excited and expected a hard competition and it was.
The Golden Glove was well organised and we had a lot of fun, also in Venice the day before the tournament started.

Despite our experiences from last year with this WKU tournament we decided once again to take part in this competition. Other rules and regulations, of course, its WKU, but once again a second place for me in Point-fighting, this time in the OC -55kg.

My first Musical Form at the Grand Champ Nightshow. We did it the first time with spotlights, background music during the breaks and live moderation and live stream. The format was an idea of Stefano and it was awesome. This has to be the way we have to do it next year again.

IBF Dutch Open
March 11-12, 2017, Dalfsen
The Yokoso/SCKA team in Dalfsen: we did the open hand forms, open hand fights (thats how the IBF calls point fighting) and the weapon forms, with great results. Everyone of us who did the weapons got a trophy.
